I support this stamp since an idiot by the name of Clive Palmer is attempting to build a Titanic II that will be a shameful cruise ship-knockoff and will most likely never happen.

I undertsand, although I'm not highly intelligent (at school I had always low grades in all subjects, even if I studied hard).
A thing that at school disappointed me is that one of my classmates (that I considered intelligent) once told me that history is useless and that she doesn't give a damn about knowing how JVLIVS CAESAR ruled Roman Empire or about Cristoforo Colombo discovering America, or the other things.
I think knowing history is a good thing.

Confucius described perfectly the value of learning history, those are amongst his famous quotes:

"Isn't it a pleasure to study and practice what you have learned? Isn't it also great when friends visit from distant places? If one remains not annoyed when he is not understood by people around him, isn't he a sage?"

"Reviewing what you have learned and learning anew, you are fit to be a teacher."

"Things have their root and their branches. Affairs have their end and their beginning. To know what is first and what is last will lead near to what is taught in the Great Learning."

History is the best teacher, since it allows learning on mistakes performed by someone else.

That reminds me...
Back in 5th grade, the history teacher told us that Paul Revere never really said, "The British are coming!". And she also said that it breaks her heart whenever she hears that phrase. Hmmm...

Actually, now that I'm on that subject, I think I'm going to look into it some more. *goes to Google*

When someone mentions the word "history", all that comes up to my mind are war, witch-hunt, torture, holocaust... etc. :fear: Can't help it. Maybe they were just the things I mostly focused on on history lessons.

That is completely understandable! I have always been a HUGE history nerd, so anything old, and that makes the think about time gone by is something I consider history.

I think a lot of people probably think differently about history than I do. I really just couldn't think of a word other than "history" to convey what I was trying to say in this stamp. Hehee.

I admit that I like Hetalia, but I loved history even before I found out about it. I'm starting to lose faith in it anyways, because it really just replays all the stuff we already know. The History channel is tons more interesting than Hetalia.

I read Hetalia too, but I'm starting to lose my faith on it. It doesn't really tell very interesting things, more like random cultural things like how americans are different from the japanese. I like better cartoons like "Once upon the americans" or others like that. I just saw a document about Finland's and German's relations in WW2 times, very interesting, and a document about South Italy, both 100x more interesting than Hetalia. :/

Hetalia has potential, I wish it would use it.

Why are people interested in Hetalia for the history and see it only for history?
There are many more interesting aspects to it.
I strongly dislike history as a subject. Fact.

But what about the characters?
These are characters created in someone's imagination. They have an inspiration, yes, but so does every other character.

The interest in Hetalia isn't the history. It's the characters.

I don't know. I just think it's really boring. Nothing interesting ever happens. And most of the characters are really boring. And those who are at least a little bit interesting are usually completely raped by the fandom. So yeah. I like Germany, Finland,South Italy, Canada and Russia. Even though Russia and Canada are nothing like Russia and Canada. Also Himaruya really should maybe do his research because he obviously doesn't know a shit about some things. Also why the hell are some of the uniforms wrong? I have never seen a finnish soldier wearing a white beret. And the uniform is grey.

My least favs are probably Norway, Hungary, Italy and female characters are boring in general....even though I like pair Belgium with Romano sometimes....lol. And Ukraine is kinda sweet. : P

I've always thought the characters were very interestingly developed. Characters are my favorite part of any story, so I analyze them like no other.

And don't mix up the anime with Himaruya's work.
This is how he originally drew Finland: [link]

Himaruya is actually very knowledgeable if you read his writings about his work. Don't just rely on the anime.

Some of the characters are interesting, like Romano, Finland....I know that Finland being all kawaii desu ne I'm wearing girls clothes desu moe moe waiffu is all fangirls fault and I know that in some info it's said he is dangerous to those who threat him or something like that. But still, not all characters are interesting in my opinion. I don't like Hungary who faps when something yaoi is going on. I find male/male couples cute just like het and yuri but seriously Hungary.... :iconwthewwplz:

And Nordics....I think Finland and Denmark are ok. But I don't like the emo trio. :|

Also characters like Belarus....who have only one ability (scare others to death). :/

And once again most of the girl characters.

The hetero-shippers aren't any better, really. Making all the girls mary-sues that all the guys are in love with. Also thinking that pairings like America x Vietnam or Germany x Belgium are AWWRIGHT.

Yeahh....Hetalia fandom is really maid of aids and diarrhea.

I'm finnish and I don't really like Sweden or swedish people to be honest....( I iz racist plz) But hetalia fandom just makes it worse, because I'm usually pretty neutral with Sweden.

America x Vietnam is actually one of the most popular hetero-shippings in Hetalia. Yeeeess WTF. I'm too lazy to explain why G x B isn't that ok either, but it isn't.

Like I have said before, IF people were really interested in history, 50% of finland related art would be about Russia, 30% of germany(or more) and the rest about Estonia and Sweden.

History & Politics? Wait wut. What is that. Can I haz some yaoi plz. :XD:

Also when fans say that they learn history better thanks to Hetalia, that their teachers fail to teach them. Lol to say something for the teacher's defence, I bet their students were just too busy reading yaoi.

Yeah. UH, PEOPLE WENT TO WAR AND DIED, YOU SICK FUCKS. Do they not know about the Vietnam war? The Vietnam and Cold Wars were NOT kawaii desu ne.

Yeah. I know I pay attention to the "historical" art (as long as it isn't nazi art because they scare me. No, I'm not kidding :XD:)

DURR HURR. HISTORY? WUTZ THAT LOL. DO U MEAN MY USUK DESU NE. THE REVOLUTION WAS SO SAD. I CRIED. ENGLAND DIDNT DESERVE THAT FROM TAXING THE FUCK OUTTA THE COLONISTS
AND GIVING THEM UNFAIR RIGHTS.

Seriously, get your head out of your ass and pay attention in history class. Hetalia only taught me trivial things, not the whole history book.
